My dad built two go-carts out of scrap metal and lawn mower motors. And me, my brothers and sister would drive them up and down our long driveway. And it was totally safe as you can see in the photo above.

When my parents built an addition to their house, the carpenters cut a bunch of 2x1s in to small blocks for me and my brother. I used to create these elaborate domino-style spectacles all over the house. (and I have no idea what I am wearing... we'll blame it on the baby-sitter.)

ONE STEP
I've recently found two of these Polaroid OneStep cameras. They are very popular and do well in the shop.
One of the two that I found was in almost new condition, so I have decided to keep it. I have two packs of old Polaroid film that I am anxious to use.
I will be in Los Angles at the end of April and will take the camera along with me. The SoCal light will be a great place to get some good shots.
VINTAGE KITCHEN
I love this small collection of vintage Cathrineholm, Dansk and other Scandinavian items in my kitchen.
The two Cathrineholm pieces I found while thrifting. I saw them from across the aisle and pushed a few people out of the way to get to them... haha. The dutch oven is in great shape. The saucier has some small burn marks on the handle, but is otherwise in good condition. One of the only times I have seen Cathrineholm in person.
The white plastic pitcher is great to use for tea. There is no mark so I have no idea of its age, designer or manufacturer. I just like its shape and modness.
I recently found the Dansk pitcher for $14 and did a little happy dance. It's in decent condition. The Dansk pot I use all the time for sauces and pasta. I had two of them but sold the larger one in the shop.
The large white pitcher is by Hammar Plast, designed by Karl-Axel Andersson and possibly Morgan Ferm (if that's even a person). I can't find any info so I don't know much about it other than that.

ZOO
One of my goals for the blog is to add a few personal posts from time to time. I thought I'd share some photos of my trip to the zoo yesterday...
I love lemurs, but this Coquerel’s Sifaka was just as cute hopping from tree to tree. The mother and baby Bonobo were crazy cute. The baby came up to the glass and looked at us with the cutest darkest biggest eyes. It was totally amazing.
Lots of animals had babies, like these Gibbons. My opinion of zoos aren't that favorable, but at least these captive animals can reproduce.
J. was in town from LA visiting for the week. I had him pose next to the gorilla statue since I always call him my "gorilla." I love this photo of him... very cute!
Have any of you been to the zoo recently?

I love seeing how people and places have changed over the years. Maybe that's one reason I like vintage items so much.
I recently came across this set of Beatles photos paired with the current location (the "now" photos were taken in the late 80s.)
Check out this project that Argentine artist Irina Werning is working on called "Back to the Future."
There are entire Flickr groups created for this topic. One of my favorites is Looking in to the Past. Here are some of my faves from Flickr user jasonepowell...
